Andrew Short is one of the top riders in the sport of supercross/motocross today. The Colorado native now residing in Texas had been a member of the Honda Red Bull Racing team for many years before spending 2011 with the Red Bull KTM squad. For 2012, Andrew has signed with the new Honda-mounted Jeremy McGrath/Larry Brooks team. Andrew had a remarkable string of finishes going where he has finished five times inside the top three out of six chances (he was injured in last years sx series) in both the Monster Energy Supercross and Lucas Oil Motocross series. 2011 didn't go the way he wanted it to but Short's looking to rebound in 2012. One of the highlights for Andrew was being selected to represent America at the 2010 Motocross des Nations held at his hometown track Lakewood, Colorado.

The man known as ‘Shorty’ to friends and fans alike is one of the sports good guys as he always finds the time to deal with all of his supporters. This down-home demeanor is probably because Short never really thought that he’d ever get to where he is now. Andrew had to fight and claw his way to the top and truly appreciates everything that he’s earned so far.

“I think in racing you’re only as good as your last race. I don’t necessarily want to think that I have ‘made it’ or ‘I’ve arrived,’ I guess. I think that’s the drive and competitiveness of any athlete. I try to keep that mentality, always striving to get better and better because I still haven’t reached the top and that’s my goal. I think one day when I get done racing I will look back and reflect on what I have accomplished, but until then, I’m just trying to keep my head down and achieve what I can achieve.”

Short has won races in the 250MX, 250SX, 450MX but has yet to capture that elusive 450SX win but he’s certainly come close. A couple of seconds has left the 27-year old with only one spot to go and some time to do it. Short's 2011 season was a tough one with a still-developing machine and then a disasterous crash that left him on the sidelines.

For 2012, Andrew has signed on with the Jeremy McGrath-owned Supercross.com Honda team.
